Every member of our community agrees to uphold four foundational principles during every shared journey:
- Mutual Dignity: Treat every co-commuter with the same courtesy and consideration you expect.
- Unwavering Reliability: Value other people's time as much as your own — be prompt and communicative.
- Shared Comfort: Keep the car environment clean, calm, and welcoming for everyone.
- Fairness & Transparency: Settle fuel contributions honestly with zero commercial markup or haggling.
2. Zero-Tolerance Violations (Immediate Permanent Blacklisting)
To maintain safety and peace of mind across our network, the following behaviors result in immediate, permanent removal and permanent blacklisting without prior warning:
- Physical, Verbal or Sexual Harassment: Any unwanted physical contact, suggestive remarks, comments on clothing or appearance, sexual advances, stalking, or intimidation.
- Discrimination & Hate Speech: Any derogatory remarks or refusal of service on grounds of religion, gender, caste, creed, regional origin, sexual orientation, disability, or language.
- Intoxication & Substance Abuse: Operating a vehicle or entering a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, narcotic drugs, cannabis, or illicit psychotropic substances.
- Reckless & Dangerous Driving: Excessive speeding, road rage, aggressive lane cutting, running red lights, or street racing across Hyderabad roads.
- Commercial Exploitation: Operating private vehicles as commercial taxis, demanding unauthorized surge fares, or extorting cash from co-passengers.
- Weapons & Contraband: Bringing firearms, knives, explosive substances, or illegal goods into any shared vehicle.
3. Punctuality, Cancellations & The 5-Minute Grace Rule
Traffic across Hyderabad's key corridors (Cyber Towers, Gachibowli, Financial District, ORR) is demanding. When you coordinate a shared commute, co-commuters organize their workdays around your timing:
- Be Ready at the Pickup Point: Riders should be at the designated pickup landmark five (5) minutes before the scheduled time. Drivers should plan routes with realistic traffic buffers.
- The 5-Minute Courtesy Window: If a commuter is delayed due to unexpected circumstances, they must immediately inform the other party via WhatsApp. A courtesy waiting period of five (5) minutes is standard. Drivers are not obligated to wait beyond five minutes if the rider has not communicated.
- The 2-Hour Cancellation Courtesy: If you must cancel a scheduled ride, give at least two (2) hours advance notice via WhatsApp so your match has time to make alternate arrangements.
- Zero Ghosting: Failing to show up without prior communication ("no-shows") severely damages community trust and results in immediate automated penalty strikes.
4. In-Vehicle Atmosphere & Personal Comfort
A car is a shared, enclosed space. Practicing thoughtful consideration ensures an enjoyable commute for everyone:
- Air Conditioning & Windows: The driver manages climate control but should check with passengers on temperature preferences. If someone is cold or warm, speak up politely!
- Music & Audio Levels: Keep music at a moderate, ambient volume. If co-passengers prefer silence, need to review notes, or rest, drivers should kindly adjust the volume.
- Phone Calls & Headphones: Always use earphones for watching videos, listening to music, or attending meetings. If you must take a personal or business call, keep your voice low and the conversation brief.
- Strict Smoke & Vape Prohibition: Smoking cigarettes, cigars, or using e-cigarettes/vapes is strictly prohibited inside any TRYDR vehicle at all times.
- Food & Beverages: Non-alcoholic bottled water is always welcome. Avoid consuming messy, sticky, or strongly aromatic foods inside someone else's vehicle. Always dispose of litter responsibly.
- Cleanliness & Hygiene: Riders must respect the owner's vehicle. Drivers should ensure seats are clean and uncluttered.
5. Transparent & Honest Cost-Sharing Rules
TRYDR exists to make commuting affordable and sustainable, not for commercial profit:
- Cost Offset Only: The contribution paid by the rider offsets fuel and toll costs directly. It is not a commercial taxi fare.
- No Mid-Ride Haggling: The shared contribution agreed upon via WhatsApp prior to boarding is fixed and binding. Neither party may alter the amount mid-commute.
- Prompt Settlement: Riders should settle their cost share promptly at the end of the trip using UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm) or exact cash.
6. Respectful Communication & Off-Platform Boundaries
TRYDR facilitates connections for shared daily travel. Personal boundaries must be honored:
- Commute-Related Messages Only: Keep all WhatsApp conversations strictly focused on ride logistics (pickup point, timing, delays, cost settlement).
- No Unsolicited Social Outreach: Do not use telephone numbers obtained through TRYDR to send unsolicited personal messages, romantic advances, sales pitches, or spam after the ride has ended.
- Privacy Respect: Do not photograph, film, or record audio of fellow commuters without their explicit, prior verbal consent.
7. Enforcement, Strike System & Penalties
We maintain community standards through a fair, transparent review process:
| Tier | Trigger / Infraction Type | Action & Consequence |
|---|---|---|
| Notice / Warning | First minor delay, unnotified cancellation, or cabin etiquette dispute. | Direct feedback and educational guidance via WhatsApp support. |
| Strike 1 | Repeated no-show, unprovoked cancellation under 1 hour, or discourteous behavior. | Formal strike recorded on profile. Temporary 7-day matching pause. |
| Strike 2 | Second recurring violation within 60 days. | 30-day suspension from all TRYDR matching workflows. |
| Permanent Ban | Three strikes OR any single Zero-Tolerance violation (harassment, intoxication, reckless driving). | Permanent telephone number blacklisting, profile erasure, and referral to law enforcement where applicable. |
