By accessing trydr.in, submitting your contact details, or engaging with TRYDR automated or concierge workflows on WhatsApp, you enter into an enforceable legal contract with TRYDR Mobility Services under the Indian Contract Act, 1872 and the Information Technology Act, 2000. If you do not agree with any clause of these Terms, you must immediately refrain from using the Platform.
2. Nature of the Platform & Intermediary Status
TRYDR operates strictly as an electronic technology intermediary as defined under Section 2(1)(w) of the Information Technology Act, 2000.
- Matchmaking Service Only: TRYDR provides a digital network and communication protocol enabling private individual vehicle owners ("Drivers") travelling a specific commute route in Hyderabad to discover co-commuters ("Riders") travelling in the same direction at comparable times.
- No Transportation Business: TRYDR is NOT a public transport company, taxi service, motor cab operator, stage carriage operator, or on-demand cab aggregator under Section 93 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
- No Principal-Agent Relationship: Drivers are independent, private individuals making personal commute journeys. Drivers are neither employees, agents, contractors, nor franchisees of TRYDR. TRYDR exercises no supervisory control over a Driver's vehicle, route selection, driving maneuvers, or schedule.
- Independent Contract: Any carpooling arrangement formed through TRYDR is a direct, voluntary, private consensus reached solely between the Driver and Rider.
3. Strict Non-Commercial Carpooling Mandate
Carpooling on TRYDR is strictly non-profit and non-commercial. Drivers operate private motor vehicles bearing white registration plates.
- Cost Reimbursement Only: Shared contributions paid by Riders represent solely a proportionate reimbursement of actual running expenses (fuel, highway tolls, and municipal parking) incurred on the trip.
- Zero Profit / Commercial Prohibition: Drivers are strictly prohibited from generating commercial profit, charging fare markups, charging surge pricing, or operating their private vehicles as unregistered commercial taxis (commercial contract carriages). Any attempt to operate commercially constitutes an immediate, material breach and permanent blacklisting.
- Trip Autonomy: Drivers must be making the journey for their own personal or professional commute purpose irrespective of whether a carpool match is found.
4. User Eligibility
To register or participate in any TRYDR carpool, you represent and warrant that:
- You are at least eighteen (18) years of age and possess full legal capacity to enter into a binding contract under Indian law.
- All personal information, contact numbers, route endpoints, and corporate affiliations provided by you are true, accurate, and up-to-date.
- You will not use the Platform for any illegal, commercial, solicitous, or fraudulent purpose.
- You have never been suspended, blacklisted, or removed from TRYDR or any prior mobility service for misconduct, harassment, or safety violations.
5. Driver Representations, Warranties & Obligations
Any User offering a ride through TRYDR explicitly represents, warrants, and covenants that:
- Valid Driving Licence: You hold a current, valid, and un-suspended Driving Licence (LMV - Light Motor Vehicle) issued by a competent Regional Transport Authority (RTA) in India.
- Vehicle Registration (RC): The vehicle used for the commute is legally registered with a competent Indian transport authority and is roadworthy in accordance with the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989.
- Comprehensive Insurance: The vehicle is covered by an active, comprehensive motor insurance policy (issued by an IRDAI-regulated insurer) that includes compulsory third-party liability covering co-passengers and vehicle occupants.
- Valid PUC Certificate: The vehicle possesses a valid Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate.
- Zero Intoxication: You will not operate the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, or medications causing drowsiness (in strict compliance with Section 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988).
- Traffic Adherence: You will strictly observe all traffic rules, speed limits, traffic signals, lane discipline, and mandatory seatbelt compliance (including ensuring all passengers wear seatbelts).
- Distraction-Free Driving: You will not use handheld mobile phones while operating the vehicle.
6. Rider Representations & Obligations
Any User booking or accepting a ride as a passenger explicitly represents, warrants, and covenants that:
- Punctuality: You will arrive at the mutually agreed pickup location at the confirmed time, allowing a maximum courtesy grace period of five (5) minutes.
- Respectful Conduct: You will treat the Driver and fellow co-passengers with dignity, courtesy, and respect. You will observe all TRYDR Community Guidelines.
- Safety Compliance: You will wear your seatbelt at all times while the vehicle is in motion (including in rear passenger seats). For two-wheeler rides, you must wear a certified helmet.
- Prohibited Items: You will not carry any hazardous substances, inflammable liquids, firearms, weapons, illegal narcotics, or contraband inside the vehicle.
- Property Care: You will maintain cleanliness within the vehicle and will be personally liable for any intentional damage or soiling caused by you.
7. Shared Cost Reimbursement & Payments
TRYDR facilitates transparency by suggesting an indicative, fair cost-sharing estimate based on estimated distance and prevailing fuel costs in Hyderabad:
- Direct Peer Settlement: Unless processed via an integrated payment gateway explicitly introduced by TRYDR, all expense settlements occur directly between the Rider and Driver via direct UPI or cash at the conclusion of the commute.
- No Commission on Direct Trips: In its conversational phase, TRYDR charges zero brokerage fee or commission on individual cost reimbursements settled between peers.
- Fixed Agreement: The cost share agreed upon prior to boarding is final. Neither Driver nor Rider may renegotiate, haggle, or demand surcharges once the trip has commenced.
8. Cancellation & No-Show Policy
Shared commuting relies upon trust and reliability. To protect fellow commuters whose workday depends upon timely travel:
- Advance Notice Requirement: If you must cancel a scheduled commute, you must notify your matched partner via WhatsApp at least two (2) hours prior to the scheduled departure time.
- Repeated No-Shows: Failing to appear without prior notification ("ghosting") disrupts schedules and incurs automated penalty strikes. Three (3) unexcused cancellations or no-shows within thirty (30) days will result in automated account suspension.
9. Intermediary Disclaimers (Safe Harbour / Section 79 IT Act)
Under Section 79 of the Information Technology Act, 2000, TRYDR is an intermediary that does not initiate transmissions, select receivers of transmissions, or modify content contained in user messages.
TRYDR does not conduct physical mechanical inspections of vehicles, verify mechanical roadworthiness, or administer on-road driving tests. Users acknowledge that shared carpooling involves voluntary interactions with independent third parties. You agree to exercise reasonable prudence, verify credentials, and satisfy yourself of your personal safety prior to entering any vehicle.
10. Comprehensive Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Indian law:
- No Liability for Road Accidents: TRYDR, its founders, directors, employees, and affiliates shall NOT be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from vehicular accidents, traffic collisions, physical injuries, permanent disabilities, or fatalities occurring during or in connection with any carpool journey. Such claims rest exclusively between the vehicle occupants and applicable motor vehicle insurance underwriters under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
- No Liability for Property Damage or Theft: TRYDR is not liable for lost, stolen, forgotten, or damaged personal belongings (laptops, phones, bags) left inside vehicles.
- No Liability for Delays: TRYDR is not liable for missed flights, train departures, workplace disciplinary actions, salary deductions, or financial losses caused by traffic congestion, route deviations, mechanical breakdowns, or late arrivals.
- Aggregate Liability Cap: In any event, the total aggregate liability of TRYDR for any and all claims arising out of or relating to your use of the Platform shall not exceed the lesser of: (a) INR 1,000 (One Thousand Indian Rupees); or (b) the actual fees (if any) paid by you directly to TRYDR in the preceding three (3) months.
11. User Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless TRYDR, its founders, directors, officers, agents, and employees from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:
- Your breach or violation of any provision of these Terms of Use, the Privacy Policy, or Community Guidelines;
- Your violation of any applicable law, rule, or regulation, including the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 or traffic ordinances;
- Any motor accident, physical harm, or property damage caused by your reckless, negligent, or unlawful driving; or

- Engaging in physical, verbal, or sexual harassment, intimidation, or stalking;
- Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or driving recklessly;
